RV Parks on Lake Travis
There are 14 RV Parks
and Marinas covering the lake. Most offer RV spaces with RV hookups. Many also offer year around rates
which is popular. RV Park
rates are from $25 to $35 per night with the winter
season being somewhat less. Reserve your RV Park space well in advance on
Lake Travis as it is very popular.
Cabins
For Rent
Cabins are available with a range of prices
with $47 to $86 being the
average. Some
Lake
Travis
fishing guides live on their home lake and more
are offering rustic cabins. This is a
good situation
because in addition to
being away from the crowds, you have the
guide’s experience.
Vegetation:
Being a highland reservoir, vegetation is almost non
existent. You will find mostly Rocky Banks and steep
Cliffs. Grass coverage is from
10% to
15% of the lake's area. Dominant
types
are buttonbush, and water primrose. Fish are more active
in the fall,
winter and spring months due to the much cooler weather.
Of course they are active much longer during daylight hours
and are normally found in shallow water early
morning and late afternoon. Try rocky banks rock
piles and marinas. For active top water fish, try
zara spooks, Pop-R's and Jumping Minnows.
White
and Striped
Bass are good night fishing in the lower part of the
lake around lighted boat docks.
