Location: Lake Somerville is the On Yegua Creek in Washington County Texas, it is approximately 30 miles from Bryan and College Station Texas.
The Surface area: 11,456 acres.
The Maximum depth: 38 feet,
It was Impounded in 1967.

Current Lake Level .
The Conservation Pool Elevation is 238 ft. for the Lake.
The Fluctuation is Low to moderate, between 1-6 feet and the Normal Water Clarity is Slightly stained.

White bass anglers know the Lake well as a quality fishing lake, during the spring spawning run. This Lake also offers good fishing for hybrid striped bass, channel catfish and crappie fishing as well.

Lake fishing offers little shoreline cover or structure. During high water periods the flooded vegetation is the best cover available for fish.

White bass and striped bass fishing on the Lake can be found in the creeks in the early spring, beginning in the middle of February. During the summer months and the fall these fish are found in the open water searching for schooling shad on Lake Somerville. The area that is off Welch Park is usually good fishing right before the spring spawning run.
